I am a junior at The Wellington School, a college prep school in Columbus, Ohio. The Wellington School has provided me with an education that taught me how to think and shape the world around me. It has handed me challenges that have helped me become the best person I can be, along with preparing me for both school and soccer at the next level.

ATHLETICS

In the summer of 2019, I was part of a Locker Soccer Academy trip to Italy that helped me grow as a player. Playing with a team assembled just for this trip against teams that played a completely different game, including an AC Milan Academy team, I quickly emerged as a leader on the field. My time in Italy helped me understand what soccer means to me and what it can mean to people on a global scale. It gave me insight into a new style of soccer, which I know helped me during my high school’s State Championship season. Our team culture fostered strong relationships and will to win for each other lead us to The Wellington School’s first soccer State Championship.

Before going to Italy or winning a championship with my high school team, I played my first season at Sporting Columbus, where I learned a completely new style of play. We followed a style similar to Pep Guardiola’s, which I was familiar with from watching his teams play. This style of play has helped my tactical sense and overall understanding of the game.
